Howard’s Folly – Where Passion Meets Precision in the Alentejo & Vinho Verde
Nestled in the foothills of the São Mamede mountains in the Alentejo region, Howard’s Folly Winery is a celebration of elegance, sustainability, and artistry. The cooler microclimate and ancient vineyards provide the perfect conditions for producing wines with freshness, complexity, and finesse.
The estate spans 7 hectares of 20-25-year-old vines, cultivated with meticulous care. Additionally, Howard's Folly partners with local farmers tending small plots of ancient vines, which yield low quantities of highly concentrated grapes, ideal for creating super-premium wines.
In the Monção and Melgaço region of Vinho Verde, the winery produces Alvarinho, Portugal’s most revered white grape variety. The result is vibrant, floral wines bursting with minerality and acidity.
